UPDATE: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the winners of the National Disaster Resilience Competition on January 21, 2016.
Commerce and other state agencies are strongly committed to supporting resiliency efforts in your communities, and we will continue to work with each MID-URN community to provide technical assistance and identify resources to successfully implement these important projects. In the coming weeks we will be working with our partners and MID-URN communities to discuss next steps.
Between 2011 and 2013, Montana was the recipient of three Presidential Disaster Declarations for impacts resulting from severe storms, flooding, and wildfires. These disaster declarations affected 48 of the 56 counties statewide, and while federal relief funds have been spent in response to these events, extensive unmet needs continue to exist across the state.
