Long-Range Planning Subcommittee Meeting Quality Schools HB14

As a reminder, the Joint Appropriations Long-Range Planning (LRP) Subcommittee meeting will be accepting public comment on House Bill (HB14) specific to the Quality Schools projects. Public comment and review of the Quality Schools projects will begin Tuesday, January 24, 2017 and may continue through Wednesday January 25, 2017 for projects from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 317B of the Capital Building. Please see the attached schedule. Please note the schedule is subject to change.

The public hearing will allow time for project representatives, in rank order, to provide testimony to the subcommittee. Project representatives will have a limited amount of time to provide public comment (3 minutes of testimony is suggested to allow all project representatives time), please be sure to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the time listed on the schedule.

If project representatives are unable to attend the hearing in person, you may submit written testimony for your project to Crystal Bridges at cbridges@mt.gov or DOCQualitySchools@mt.gov. Your testimony will be provided to the Long Range Planning subcommittee.


HB14 Local Infrastructure Grants and Loan Program

As a reminder, the Joint Appropriations Long-Range Planning (LRP) Subcommittee meeting will be accepting public comment on House Bill (HB14) regarding the new Local Infrastructure Grants and Loan Program, providing funding opportunities to local governments for infrastructure projects. This new program would be a solution for projects that were not recommended for infrastructure funding through infrastructure grant programs, such as the Treasure State Endowment Program, Renewable Resource Grant and Loan program, and Quality Schools, or newly identified local infrastructure projects. Public comment regarding this program is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 317B of the Capital Building. Please note the schedule is subject to change.

If you are unable to attend the hearing in person, you may submit written testimony regarding this program to Crystal Bridges at cbridges@mt.gov or DOCCDD@mt.gov. Your testimony will be provided to the Long Range Planning subcommittee.


On November 15, 2016, Governor Bullock released his 2019 Biennium Executive Budget. Included in Volume 8 of the Budget are the Governor’s recommendations to fund 9 school facility projects through the Quality Schools program, with a total appropriation of $5,413,013.98 for project during the 2019 Biennium.
