Commerce’s Community Development Block Grant Program Awards Funding to 6 Montana Communities

Six Montana communities will share $2.6 million of federal grant funding through the Department of Commerce’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to support the financing of critical infrastructure and community development projects in Montana.

“These grants will assist the growth and sustainable development of Montana’s vibrant and charming towns,” Montana Department of Commerce Director Pam Haxby-Cote said. “Each of these projects will produce tangible results to strengthen our communities.”

The following communities have received CDBG grants:

  • City of Thompson Falls: $381,730 to revitalize a blighted property in Ainsworth Field Park.
  • City of Harlowton: $450,000 for water system improvements.
  • Cascade County: $450,000 for water system improvements.
  • City of Shelby: $450,000 for storm water drainage improvements.
  • Carbon County: $450,000 for wastewater improvements.
  • City of Eureka: $450,000 for the extension of the centralized wastewater collection system.
