HELENA, Mont. – Low temperatures and heavy snowfall have created unsafe conditions for Butte’s homeless population, and the Department of Commerce is helping the community to address it by awarding grant funds to operate a shelter this winter.

Four Montana communities will receive grants through the Montana Department of Commerce’s HOME Investment Partnerships Program to assist with the development of affordable housing for Montanans.

Hamilton’s Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital will soon have a new operating room suite thanks to a $15 million bond issue financed through the Montana Facility Finance Authority’s (MFFA) Master Loan Program.

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Department of Commerce Director Pam Haxby-Cote today announced $3.3 million in federal community development grants to assist eight local governments with projects to add or enhance important services for their communities.

Nine Montana communities will share $100,000 in grants through the Montana Department of Commerce’s Montana Main Street Program, to support downtown revitalization and economic development projects.

On August 23, Commerce’s Montana Board of Housing will sponsor a training focused on Indian Home Loans at the KwaTaqNuk Convention Center. 

Standing on the site of what will become 35 affordable homes in Polson, Governor Steve Bullock today joined community leaders and private-sector partners to break ground on the Polson Landing Apartments.
