Coal Board Members

Selection of Board Members

The Coal Board is a citizen board that consists of seven members; all appointed by the Governor of the State of Montana. The members of the Board are selected as follows: two from coal impact areas; two with expertise in education; and at least two but not more than four from each district provided for in 5-1-102, MCA. Furthermore, in making these appointments, the Governor can consider people from these fields: business; engineering; public administration; and planning.
