Who We Are

The Community Development Division is made up of two bureaus that administer federal and state programs. The Division also collaborates with other state and federal agencies and programs to provide a comprehensive approach to planning and construction grant projects.

The Community Planning Bureau provides financial and technical assistance to communities and entities across the state. This is done through technical assistance in community planning, land use, GIS mapping and analysis, and engineering assistance. Planning grants are awarded through various state and federal programs to assist communities with long-term planning.

The Community Grants Bureau provides financial and project administration assistance to communities and entities across the state who have received construction-related funding through Community Development Division programs. This is done through technical assistance and training available through Grants Bureau staff and materials or guides that are provided by bureau programs. Onsite assistance and training is also available to help make each funded project a success.
